  • From Group Company to Independent Enterprise – Day One, Zero Disruption

How eAppSys helped a leading Indian animal health company stand up a fully independent ERP system in 6 months.

Industry: Animal Health | Technology: Oracle EBS 12.2.12 | Implementation: 6 months | Ongoing support: 2+ years

When a leading Indian animal health and vaccination company separated from its parent group, it had one non-negotiable requirement: be fully operational as an independent business from Day One.

The brief was simple: No downtime. No confusion for employees. No loss of data.

That sentence is easy to write. It is much harder to deliver, because the moment a company becomes legally independent, every system that ran the business under the parent’s umbrella has to either come along, be rebuilt, or be replaced.

There is no soft launch. There is no parallel run. The clock starts the day the separation is signed.

Four challenges defined the engagement.

Operational continuity: From Day One, orders had to flow, payments had to clear, manufacturing had to dispatch, and payroll had to run. Not a single business process could skip a beat – and “Day One” wasn’t a target date the team could quietly push by a week if things got tight. It was a contractual moment.

The human side: Employees had spent years inside the parent group’s Oracle environment. They knew the screens, the shortcuts, the customizations. Asking them to learn a brand-new system on top of a brand-new corporate identity would have been a recipe for resistance and lost productivity.

The new ERP needed to feel familiar – even though almost everything underneath had changed.

Data: Open invoices, customer balances, supplier records, employee history, and years of transactional data sat across multiple legacy Oracle EBS instances. All of it had to be migrated cleanly – not just to keep operations running, but to satisfy audits and regulatory reporting in the months that followed.

Compliance: As an independent Indian entity, the new company had to handle GST, integrate with Indian banking systems, and meet local regulatory rules from the very first transaction. There was no grace period for getting compliance right later.

Four moves shaped the response.

eAppSys deployed Oracle EBS on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, covering Finance, Manufacturing, and HR as a single, integrated environment. Running on cloud meant the new company could stand up its own infrastructure without inheriting hardware or data-center dependencies from the parent.

To protect the user experience, existing workflows, screen layouts, and key customizations were migrated forward into the new system. Employees logged in on Day One to an environment that felt unmistakably theirs – not a clean-room install they had to learn from scratch.

Data migration was treated as a first-class workstream, not an afterthought. Historical records, open transactions, and employee data were consolidated from multiple legacy EBS versions, cleansed, and loaded into the new environment with full reconciliation. The result was an audit-ready ledger from the moment go-live happened.

Compliance was built in from the ground up. The system integrated directly with banking partners and the GSTN, with India-specific localizations configured before testing began – not retrofitted at the end.

The outcome was the one the business had asked for.

The company launched as an independent enterprise on schedule, with operations running from Day One.

Employees experienced minimal disruption – most found their familiar workflows waiting for them in the new system. Leadership gained full visibility across finance, manufacturing, and HR on a single platform, enabling faster, better-informed decisions from the start. Vaccine manufacturing traceability and inventory control met regulatory standardsout of the gate.

And eAppSys has provided ongoing production support for more than two years since go-live, evolving the system as the business has grown.

At eAppSys, we have helped organizations across industries make this exact transition – on Oracle EBS, on cloud, and on tight timelines – with the compliance, data integrity, and user continuity that audits and employees demand.
