E-business suite R12 Implementation for Construction Company

Balfour Beatty aims to increase efficiency and improve service to customers. It has made substantial investments in Oracle applications and wanted to gain maximum efficiency from that investment. In line with this Balfour Beatty has launched a program called R12 Harmonization Programme and has decided to consolidate their businesses running on Legacy systems (Oracle 11i & COINS ERP) to bring into onto existing system i.e., UK BB Oracle R12 Solution.
This Programme will assist in forming a single IT Platform and enable a standard operating model for the R12 Oracle system and business processes. Balfour Beatty is striving to match or exceed the performance levels of similar Infrastructure companies, delivering a better quality of service by lowering their IT costs. Also, Balfour wanted to streamline their Fixed assets management which is integrated with third party systems, both at the corporate and business unit level.
In order to perform:
- Integrate with Plant & Fleet management system via Mass addition interface
- Integrate with other e-Business suite modules.
- Add, depreciate, divide, valuate and delete fixed assets
- Ensure compliance with local accounting and taxing practices
- Configure and manage depreciation methods
- Set predefined or custom depreciation methods for each asset
- Valuate assets in different currencies
- Automate assets definition and configuration
- Update asset information daily, monthly, quarterly or annually
- generate reports on additions, transfers, retirement

By implementing Oracle Fixed Assets module, Balfour has a third-party Plant & Fleet solution which mirrors and has the front-end systems, and seamlessly integrates with Oracle FA, Procurement and overall oracle Financial & Inventory footprints.
As well as expert consultancy support during system implementation, eAppSys also provides Technical, Data Migration, BI Support and other software support under a long-term managed service contract. These services include consultancy support, call handling and help desk services. eAppSys manages the relationships with all third parties associated with the solution, including Oracle Support. eAppSys application support staff provide call resolution and manage routine patch application and bug fixes.
